National Sports Day Celebration 2026 The Department of Physics with CA enthusiastically celebrated National Sports Day on 28th August 2026. The event honored the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player  Major Dhyan Chand to emphasize the importance of physical activities and sports in student lives. Dr. M. Mohanbabu, HOD of Physics with CA, delivered a welcome address. Dr. D. Muruganandam, the Principal and Mr. K. N. Babu, the Vice Principal followed with a special address to appreciate and motivate the students. The sports events were conducted both indoor and outdoor games such as cricket, volleyball, throw ball, badminton, Tennikoit, chess and carrom in the presence of Physical director, Mrs. C. Murugeswari. The Winners and Runners were appreciated with Trophy and Medals.

Our principal Dr.D.Muruganandam gave a special address and motivated the students. Mrs.S.Maheswari delivered a guest lecture on “Higher Studies in Mathematics”. Industrial Visit to Modern Bakers – Practical Exposure to Bakery Production The Department of BBA organized an Industrial Visit to Modern Bakers on 14.08.2026 to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of a bakery production unit. Around 118 students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the industrial visit. The visit helped students gain a better understanding of the various stages involved in bakery production, from raw material selection and preparation to baking, packaging, quality control, and distribution. It provided valuable practical insights into the production process and helped students relate their theoretical knowledge to real-world industrial practices.

கம்பனால் பெரிதும் காதலிக்கப்பட்ட பாத்திரம் வாலியா? கும்பகர்ணனா? இராவணனா? – சிறப்புப் பட்டிமன்றம் நம் கல்லூரியில் சிறப்புற செயல்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கும் தமிழ்த்துறையின் ‘மதுர மாலோலன் தமிழ் மன்றம்’ சார்பாக 20/8/2026 அன்று கம்பராமாயணத்தை சிறப்பிக்கும் விதமாக” கம்பனால் பெரிதும் காதலிக்கப்பட்ட பாத்திரம் வாலியே கும்பகர்ணனே  ராவணனே” என்ற தலைப்பில் பட்டிமன்றம் நடைபெற்றது. கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த் துறை பேராசிரியர்கள் மற்றும் கணிதத் துறை பேராசிரியர் தமிழ்த்துறைத் மற்றும் கணினி அறிவியல் துறை மாணவர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டு சிறப்புற உரை நிகழ்த்தினார். நிகழ்வின் நடுவராக சகுந்தலையின்  இரா.சீ . பரதன் கலந்துகொண்டு தீர்ப்பினை வழங்கினார். முன்னதாக நிகழ்வில் கல்லூரியின் இயக்குநர் முனைவர் உ. சுபத்ரா அவர்கள் தலைமையேற்று தலைமையுரை வழங்கினார். கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் த. முருகானந்தம் அவர்கள் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார். சுமார் 100க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். நிகழ்வு சிறப்பாக நடந்தேறியது.

National Space Day Celebration-2026 The Department of Physics with Computer Applications celebrated National Space Day on 21st August 2026 with great enthusiasm. Dr. M. Mohanbabu, HOD, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of space exploration and science. The celebration featured Rangoli, Debate, Quiz, Paper Presentation, Speech, Chart Display, and Scientific Model competitions, providing students an opportunity to showcase their creativity and scientific knowledge. Dr. V. Subathra, Director appreciated the participants and encouraged the students to enhance their life in education. Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, motivated the students to develop greater interest in space science. The event successfully inspired students and created awareness about the significance of space exploration. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. E. Chinnasamy, Coordinator of the event.

Women’s Safety Awareness Programme – 2026

Women’s Safety Awareness Programme – 2026 The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC/POSH) of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science organized a Womens’ Safety Awareness Programme on 19 August 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the College Auditorium. The programme was attended by students and staff. Dr. V. Subathra, Director Academics, SMCAS, was the Chief Guest. Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, SMCAS, and Dr. P. Amulsofiya, Convenor, ICC, also participated in the programme. The programme focused on creating awareness about women’s safety, prevention of sexual harassment, personal dignity, respect and the importance of reporting inappropriate behaviour. As part of the awareness activities, students performed a mime highlighting issues related to sexual harassment and women’s safety. The performance conveyed the importance of speaking up, seeking help and respecting women’s rights and dignity. A drawing competition on the theme of Women’s Safety was also conducted for students. Approximately 250 Students actively participated and expressed their ideas and messages on safety, equality, respect and prevention of harassment through their drawings. The programme created awareness among students and encouraged them to contribute towards maintaining a safe, respectful and harassment-free campus. The programme concluded with a message promoting safety, equality, respect and dignity for all.

Field Training Programme – Census 2027  Mr. M. Kanagaraj, Assistant Professor, acted as the District Field Trainer and organized the training programme for Census 2027 at Madurantakam Municipality. The training was conducted in two batches: Batch I on 17th, 18th, and 20th July 2026, and Batch II on 27th, 28th, and 29th July 2026. The programme aimed to equip enumerators and supervisors with the necessary knowledge and skills required for the successful conduct of Census 2027.

Free Zero-Balance Bank account opening camp for students A free zero balance special Bank Account Opening Camp was organized on 12th August 2026 at the college campus for students to ensure the smooth and direct transfer of scholarship funds to their bank accounts. Bank officials from SBI, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, and the Co-operative Bank assisted students in opening their accounts. The initiative enabled students to conveniently access banking services and ensured smooth scholarship disbursement.

Yuva Aapda – 7 days training programme The NSS Regional Directorate organized a 7-day residential Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme (YAMS) Training Programme from 06.07.2026 to 12.07.2026 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur. A total of 11 NSS volunteers actively participated and received practical training in disaster preparedness, risk reduction, first aid, search and rescue, emergency response, evacuation, and community-based disaster management. The programme enhanced their skills and confidence to respond effectively to natural and man-made disasters and support emergency response teams.
