Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme for Final Year Students An anti-ragging awareness Program was conducted on 30/06/2026 for all Final year students. The program was held in the presence of the Director, Principal, Vice Principal, Convenor and the anti-ragging committee members. The Chief Guest was Mr. M. Sathish, B.Com., B.L., Advocate, Combined Court, Madurantakam, delivered an informative speech on the importance of maintaining a ragging-free campus. He also explained the legal consequences of ragging and emphasized the responsibility of students in creating a safe and respectful learning environment. The program was highly informative and helped create awareness among the students about the harmful effects and legal implications of ragging.

Educational Development Day 2026: Honouring the Legacy of Karma Veerar K. Kamarajar The Department of Physics with Computer Applications celebrated Educational Development Day on 15th July 2026 to commemorate the 124th Birth Anniversary of Karma Veerar K. Kamarajar. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. M. Mohanbabu, Head of the Department. Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal highlighted the educational contributions of Kalvikkan Thiranthavar Kamarajar, and Mr. K. N. Babu, Vice Principal delivered a motivational address on Kamarajar’s vision to the students. A plantation drive was organized at the Physics Park with the active participation of faculty members and students. Students also delivered speeches on the life and achievements of Karma Veerar Kamarajar. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. J. Arunkarthikeyan, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics.

The program was conducted in the presence of the Principal, Vice Principal, Convenor and Anti-Ragging Committee Members. The Chief Guest, Mr. A. Britto Joseph, Programme Manager-ASSCOD NGO, gave a speech on the importance of a ragging-free campus and explained the legal consequences of ragging. The program was useful and created awareness among the students. The program ended with a vote of thanks.

Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme (YAMS) – 7-Day Residential Training Programme The NSS Regional Directorate organized a 7-day residential Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme (YAMS) Training Programme for NSS volunteers from 06.07.2026 to 12.07.2026 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu District. A total of 11 NSS volunteers from Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, participated in the training programme. The programme provided comprehensive training in disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction, first aid, search and rescue techniques, emergency response, evacuation procedures, and community-based disaster management. The volunteers gained practical knowledge and hands-on experience in responding effectively during natural and man-made disasters. They were trained to rescue affected people, provide first aid, coordinate with emergency response teams, and manage critical situations during disasters

NSS, YRC & RRC Organize Drug Awareness Rally

NSS, YRC & RRC Organize Drug Awareness Rally The NSS, YRC and RRC Units in collaboration with the Drive Against Drugs (DAD) Committee, organized a Drug Awareness Rally on 29 June 2026 to observe the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The rally was formally inaugurated by Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, Thiru. Sugenthiran, Municipal Commissioner, Madurantakam, and Thiru. B. Enayathbasha, Sub-Inspector of Police, Madurantakam, who flagged off the rally. The rally commenced from the Madurantakam Bus Stand and covered approximately 2 kilometres through the surrounding areas. NSS volunteers, faculty members, and students actively participated by carrying awareness placards and raising slogans highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a drug-free life.

12th Graduation Day Celebrated at SMCAS

12th Graduation Day Celebrated at SMCAS With the blessings of HH Srimad Azhagiyasingar of Sri Ahobila Mutt, the 12th Graduation Day was conducted on 30 May 2026 at Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science. Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, presided over the ceremony. Shri T. K. Srivasan, Secretary, and Dr. V. Subathra, Director-Academics, participated in the event. Capt. Dr. S. Santhosh Baboo, Principal of D.G. Vaishnav College, Chennai, was the Chief Guest and delivered the Graduation Day address and presented the certificates. A total of 240 candidates received their degrees. Ms P. Madhumitha, Department of Mathematics with CA and Ms S. Vijayalakshmi, Department of Physics with CA secured university ranks and gold medals and were also given cash prize by the college management.

SMCAS Celebrates 16th Annual Day

The gathering was formally welcomed by Dr. V. Subathra, Director, who delivered the Welcome Address, extending warm greetings to the dignitaries. The Annual Report was presented by Dr. D. Muruganandam Principal, highlighting the institution’s achievements, academic progress, co-curricular activities, and significant milestones accomplished during the year. The Annual Day address was delivered by Chief Guest Mrs. Sunanda Rangarajan, CEO of Omega Forum for Social Impact, who inspired students to pursue excellence with determination and integrity. Endowment scholarships and awards for class and subject toppers were presented in recognition of academic excellence. The ceremony concluded with Shri T. K. Srinivasan, Secretary, along with the Chief Guest, Director, and Principal, honouring and felicitating meritorious students for their outstanding achievements. The institution also took pride in recognizing the dedication of its staff by honouring those who have completed 10 years of service. NSS units of our college successfully organized a multi-specialty free medical camp

Our college organized a Parents–Teachers Meeting on 14-03-2026. On the same day, the two NSS units of our college successfully organized a multi-specialty free medical camp in collaboration with SGS Trust, Velachery, Deepam Eye Hospital, Urapakkam, and Ragas Dental Hospital, Chennai for the benefit of the parents. The camp covered general medicine, cardiology, women’s health, eye care, dental care, yoga, physiotherapy, mudra therapy, BP and blood sugar check-ups, and ECG services. Medical consultations and treatment were provided to both students and their parents. Free medicines and supplements were distributed to the beneficiaries, who were the parents of our students.
