Teacher’s Day Celebration – Department of Physics with CA The students of the Department of Physics with CA organized a Teacher’s Day Celebration on 9th September 2026, to express their gratitude and appreciation to their beloved professors. Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal and followed by Vice-principal, HOD and Faculty members have shared their valuable teaching experience, insights and memorable moments. Their inspiring words encouraged the students to remain focused on their academic goals, develop confidence and strive for excellence in their future endeavors. As part of the programme, the students organized a variety of fun and engaging games for the professors, creating a memorable atmosphere.

Mega Tree Plantation Programme Promotes Environmental Conservation

Mega Tree Plantation Programme Promotes Environmental Conservation The Two NSS Units of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, organized a Mega Tree Plantation Programme on 10th and 11th September 2026 at the College Ground to promote environmental awareness, increase green cover, and encourage students to take responsibility for nature conservation. The programme was graced by Mr. C. Sugendran, Municipal Commissioner, Madurantakam, as the Chief Guest, who participated in the plantation activity and appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers. A total of 250 saplings were planted with the active participation of 200 NSS volunteers. The saplings included Timber Trees such as Eetti, Gaya and Mahogany; Fruit-Bearing Trees such as Nelli and Guava; Environmentally Beneficial and Shade Trees such as Neermaruthu, Pungan and Iluppai; and Flowering & Ornamental Trees such as Sorgam and Mandharai. The programme fostered environmental responsibility among students and strengthened their commitment to sustainable development and community service.

NSS Outreach Programme on Palm Seed Plantation Promotes Environmental Conservation

NSS Outreach Programme on Palm Seed Plantation Promotes Environmental Conservation The Two NSS Units of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, in collaboration with Mocheri Middle School, organized an Outreach Programme on Palm Seed Plantation on 10th  September 2026 at the Madurantakam Lakeside. The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting environmental conservation, increasing green cover, protecting the lakeside ecosystem, and creating awareness among students about the importance of preserving indigenous tree species. The programme was graced by Mr. C. Sugendran, Municipal Commissioner, Madurantakam, as the Chief Guest.  As part of the programme, 3,000 palm seeds were planted along the Madurantakam lakeside. NSS volunteers of Sri Malolan College and students of Mocheri Middle School actively participated in the plantation activity. The collaborative participation of college volunteers and school students helped create a strong sense of environmental responsibility among the younger generation.

Institutional Drug Awareness Committee Meeting Held to Promote a Drug-Free Society An Institutional Drug Awareness Committee Meeting was organized by the Tamil Nadu Police Department, Chengalpattu District, Madurantakam Sub-Division, on 25 August 2026 with the objective of creating awareness among students and the public about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of building a drug-free society. The programme was graced by Tmt. Ayman Jamal, I.P.S., Superintendent of Police, Chengalpattu District, as the Chief Guest, along with Tr. Deepak Rajini, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Madurantakam Sub-Division. Our college was represented by Mr. E. Gurunathan, NSS Programme Officer, along with five NSS volunteers. The meeting provided valuable insights into the harmful effects of drug abuse, its impact on individuals and society, and the role of students and educational institutions in preventing drug-related activities.

Sri Malolan College Signs MoU with Shreyas Global to Enhance Accounting Skills and Career Opportunities Sri Malolan College Signs MoU with Shreyas Global for “Accounting Excellence” Training The Career Development and Placement Cell of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shreyas Global on 2 September 2026, in the presence of Dr. V. Subathra, Director – Academics, and Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal. The MoU aims to provide industry-oriented training and career development opportunities for students. As the first initiative under this collaboration, an “Accounting Excellence” training programme was organized for students of Commerce and Management. Around 150 students benefited from the programme. Mr. T. R. Srinivasan, CEO and Head of Corporate Affairs, Shreyas Global, served as the Resource Person. The programme was supported by Mr. T. R. Srinivasan, CEO, Mr. Subramaniam, Country head and Ms. Aishwarya, HR Manager, Shreyas Global, along with the college management and faculty members. A series of training programmes will be conducted in the coming months to enhance students’ professional and employability skills. Students who successfully complete the training and perform well in the year-end selection process will have opportunities for employment in audit and accounting firms in Chennai. The initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening industry–academia collaboration and creating career opportunities for students.

National Sports Day Celebration 2026

National Sports Day Celebration 2026 The Department of Physics with CA enthusiastically celebrated National Sports Day on 28th August 2026. The event honored the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player  Major Dhyan Chand to emphasize the importance of physical activities and sports in student lives. Dr. M. Mohanbabu, HOD of Physics with CA, delivered a welcome address. Dr. D. Muruganandam, the Principal and Mr. K. N. Babu, the Vice Principal followed with a special address to appreciate and motivate the students. The sports events were conducted both indoor and outdoor games such as cricket, volleyball, throw ball, badminton, Tennikoit, chess and carrom in the presence of Physical director, Mrs. C. Murugeswari. The Winners and Runners were appreciated with Trophy and Medals.

Industrial Visit to Modern Bakers – Practical Exposure to Bakery Production The Department of BBA organized an Industrial Visit to Modern Bakers on 14.08.2026 to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of a bakery production unit. Around 118 students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the industrial visit. The visit helped students gain a better understanding of the various stages involved in bakery production, from raw material selection and preparation to baking, packaging, quality control, and distribution. It provided valuable practical insights into the production process and helped students relate their theoretical knowledge to real-world industrial practices.

கம்பனால் பெரிதும் காதலிக்கப்பட்ட பாத்திரம் வாலியா? கும்பகர்ணனா? இராவணனா? – சிறப்புப் பட்டிமன்றம் நம் கல்லூரியில் சிறப்புற செயல்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கும் தமிழ்த்துறையின் ‘மதுர மாலோலன் தமிழ் மன்றம்’ சார்பாக 20/8/2026 அன்று கம்பராமாயணத்தை சிறப்பிக்கும் விதமாக” கம்பனால் பெரிதும் காதலிக்கப்பட்ட பாத்திரம் வாலியே கும்பகர்ணனே  ராவணனே” என்ற தலைப்பில் பட்டிமன்றம் நடைபெற்றது. கல்லூரியின் தமிழ்த் துறை பேராசிரியர்கள் மற்றும் கணிதத் துறை பேராசிரியர் தமிழ்த்துறைத் மற்றும் கணினி அறிவியல் துறை மாணவர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டு சிறப்புற உரை நிகழ்த்தினார். நிகழ்வின் நடுவராக சகுந்தலையின்  இரா.சீ . பரதன் கலந்துகொண்டு தீர்ப்பினை வழங்கினார். முன்னதாக நிகழ்வில் கல்லூரியின் இயக்குநர் முனைவர் உ. சுபத்ரா அவர்கள் தலைமையேற்று தலைமையுரை வழங்கினார். கல்லூரியின் முதல்வர் த. முருகானந்தம் அவர்கள் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார். சுமார் 100க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். நிகழ்வு சிறப்பாக நடந்தேறியது.

National Space Day Celebration-2026 The Department of Physics with Computer Applications celebrated National Space Day on 21st August 2026 with great enthusiasm. Dr. M. Mohanbabu, HOD, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of space exploration and science. The celebration featured Rangoli, Debate, Quiz, Paper Presentation, Speech, Chart Display, and Scientific Model competitions, providing students an opportunity to showcase their creativity and scientific knowledge. Dr. V. Subathra, Director appreciated the participants and encouraged the students to enhance their life in education. Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, motivated the students to develop greater interest in space science. The event successfully inspired students and created awareness about the significance of space exploration. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. E. Chinnasamy, Coordinator of the event.
