NSS Outreach Programme on Palm Seed Plantation Promotes Environmental Conservation
The Two NSS Units of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, in collaboration with Mocheri Middle School, organized an Outreach Programme on Palm Seed Plantation on 10th September 2026 at the Madurantakam Lakeside. The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting environmental conservation, increasing green cover, protecting the lakeside ecosystem, and creating awareness among students about the importance of preserving indigenous tree species. The programme was graced by Mr. C. Sugendran, Municipal Commissioner, Madurantakam, as the Chief Guest.
As part of the programme, 3,000 palm seeds were planted along the Madurantakam lakeside. NSS volunteers of Sri Malolan College and students of Mocheri Middle School actively participated in the plantation activity. The collaborative participation of college volunteers and school students helped create a strong sense of environmental responsibility among the younger generation.
