Women’s Safety Awareness Programme – 2026
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC/POSH) of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science organized a Womens’ Safety Awareness Programme on 19 August 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the College Auditorium.
The programme was attended by students and staff. Dr. V. Subathra, Director Academics, SMCAS, was the Chief Guest. Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, SMCAS, and Dr. P. Amulsofiya, Convenor, ICC, also participated in the programme.
The programme focused on creating awareness about women’s safety, prevention of sexual harassment, personal dignity, respect and the importance of reporting inappropriate behaviour.
As part of the awareness activities, students performed a mime highlighting issues related to sexual harassment and women’s safety. The performance conveyed the importance of speaking up, seeking help and respecting women’s rights and dignity.
A drawing competition on the theme of Women’s Safety was also conducted for students. Approximately 250 Students actively participated and expressed their ideas and messages on safety, equality, respect and prevention of harassment through their drawings.
The programme created awareness among students and encouraged them to contribute towards maintaining a safe, respectful and harassment-free campus.
The programme concluded with a message promoting safety, equality, respect and dignity for all.
