Celebrating the 12th National Sports Day: Fostering Modern Development in Physical Education and Sports

The 12th National Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and focus on the theme “Modern Development of Physical Education and Sports for Arts and Science College Students, on 30.08.2024.” This event aims to highlight the evolving role of physical education in colleges, particularly those focused on arts and sciences, and explore how modern approaches can enhance student engagement and performance in sports. Principal Dr. V. Subathra welcomed the gathering and emphasized the significance of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork and leadership skills. She highlighted the college’s efforts in promoting sports and physical education, encouraging students to actively participate. Vice Principal Dr. D. Muruganandam spoke about the modern developments in Physical education and sports. He encouraged students to adopt a healthy lifestyle, balancing academics and physical activities. Dr. P. Sivaraman, the chief guest, delivered a keynote address on the importance of sports in higher education. He shared his experiences and insights, emphasizing the role of physical education in shaping individuals’ personalities and careers. The event was organized by Mr. M. Murali, Physical Education Director; Mrs. C. Murugeswari, Physical Education Director; Dr. M. Mohan Babu, Head of the Department of Physics; and Dr. K. Vigneshwaran, Head of the Department of Economics.

Awareness program on Drug Abuse and POCSO through lecture and Rally

On August 29, 2024, the two NSS Units along with the YRC, RRC, and Drive against Drugs Committee, organized a awareness program on Drug Abuse and POCSO through lecture and Rally. The event was led by the chief guest, Mrs. G. Amudha, Sub-Inspector of Police from Chengalpattu District, who delivered an impactful speech on the dangers of drug abuse and the features of the POCSO Act in protecting children. Following her address, students and staff participated in a rally through key areas of the community, carrying banners to raise awareness. The college Principal and Vice Principal  took part in the event. The program successfully engaged participants and the local community, spreading crucial messages about drug prevention and child protection.

Awareness programme to the female students regarding their intimate hygiene

The health and hygiene committee of our college took a right set of circumstance to conduct an awareness programme to all the female students regarding their intimate hygiene. The session has been kick started in the morning in our college auditorium around 10.30am. The principal and Health hygiene committee members delivered an absolute need advice regarding intimate and hygiene for the female students to all the departments.
