National Science Day Celebration – 2026

The Department of Physics with CA celebrated the National Science day on 03.03.2026 and 04.03.2026 at 10 AM, Physics Laboratory. Day-I:  Dr. S. Muthu, Head of the Department of Physics, Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M G R Govt Arts and Science College, Uthiramerur was the chief guest for the Guest Lecture on “Recent Trends in Physics” by the Chief Guest, which provided valuable knowledge to the students. The competition, like quiz competition and paper presentation, was conducted in an enthusiastic manner. Day-II:  Gold Medalist Ms. S. Vijayalakshmi of 2021-2024 batch was honoured by our Management through Director and Principal with a Shawl and Memento. The special addresses by the Director and Principal, followed by a motivational speech by  Ms. S. Vijayalakshmi to enlighten our students. Various events such as speech competition, debate and science fair were conducted. Prizes were distributed to the emerging students and all the participants. The program concluded with a Vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem.

14th Annual Sports Day Celebrations

The 14th Annual Sports Day of our college was celebrated with great enthusiasm on February 28, 2026. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, Dr. V. Subathra, Director-Academics, Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, and K.N. Babu, Vice-Principal, who presided over the function. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. C. Vijayan, M.A., B.Ed., M.Phil., District Educational Officer, Madurantakam Educational District, Madurantakam. The Overall Championship Trophy was awarded to the winning house. His insights and presence added a prestigious touch to the event, emphasizing the critical role of sports in the holistic development of students. Medals and certificates were distributed to the winners and runners-up.

Strengthening Employability: Value-Added Courses on Accounting and Technical Skills

The Career Development and Placement Cell (CDPC) organized Value Added Courses to strengthen students’ practical knowledge and employability skills. The Tally course, conducted by Prof. K. Raja (Department of Commerce), commenced on 05/02/2026. Office Automation and Basic Hardware began on 12/02/2026 and it was handled by Prof. A.C. Kothandaraman (Department of Computer Science), and the Training Programme on Basic Hardware session was led by Prof. V. Kumaresan (Department of Computer Application). A total of 100 students benefited from these Value Added Courses. The participants actively engaged in practical sessions and gained confidence in using accounting software, office tools, and hardware components. The programmes significantly enhanced their technical competency and job readiness.

Two-Day Training Programme: Essential Skills for the Corporate World

The Career Development and Placement Cell (CDPC) , organized a Two-Day Training Programme on “Essential Skills for the Corporate World” on 09/02/2026 and 10/02/2026 from 10.00 a.m. to 01.30 p.m. The programme was conducted in association with Magic Bus India Foundation. The resource person for the training was Mr. Sakthivijay, Program Manager, Magic Bus India Foundation. More than 150 students from various departments actively participated in the training programme.

Five-Day Workshop on “Next-Gen Intelligence” for Final-Year Students

The Career Development and Placement Cell (CDPC) organized a five-day workshop titled “Next-Gen Intelligence: Innovative Approaches in AI and Data Science” for final-year students from 3rd to 7th February 2026. The sessions were handled by faculty members from Dvein Solutions. The workshop provided in-depth exposure to emerging trends in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, along with practical insights and hands-on learning experiences. A total of 120 students actively participated and benefited from the programme.

The Career Development and Placement Cell (CDPC) organized a two-day Training Programme titled “Unlock Your Potential” for final-year students on 29th and 30th January 2026. The programme was led by Shri S. Swathi, Founder and Managing Director of Softlyric Technologies, who served as the Resource Person. The sessions focused on enhancing students’ self-confidence, communication skills, career readiness, and professional development. More than 200 students actively participated and benefited from the programme.

MATHFUN – Celebrating the 138th Birth Anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan

The Department of Mathematics with CA organized “MATHFUN” On 22nd December 2025 in connection with the 138th Birth Anniversary of Sri Srinivasa Ramanujan. The programme began with a Welcome address and guest introduction by Mr. K. N. Babu, Head of the Department. A guest lecture was delivered by the principal, Dr. D. Muruganandam, on the topic “Importance of Financial Literacy”. Three events – Math Riddles, Mathematical Tunes and Math Connection – were conducted. 24 students participated and prizes were awarded to the winners. The programme was conducted successfully.

National Integration Camp for the NSS volunteers

Mr. E Gurunathan, Assistant Professor Department of Commerce with CA and NSS Programme officer of our college had been selected for the participation as contingent leader in the National Integration camp (NIC) for the NSS volunteers in 10 various colleges affiliated to university of Madras, organized by state NSS cell, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka and Regional Directorate of NSS, Government of India, held from February 02-02-2026 to 08-02-2026 at Reva University Bangalore from all over India had participated in this event.
