 General Medical Camp was organized on 1st February 2025 at BIRD Old Age Home

The YRC, NSS Units of Sri Malolan college of Arts and Science, the General Medical Camp was organized on 1st February 2025 at BIRD Old Age Home, Perumperkandigai, to provide essential General healthcare, Eye care, Ortho Care, Neurology and Dental health care services to elderly residents and give their lunch in 54 elderly residents. The event was a collaboration with Karpaga Vinayaga Medical Sciences, Madurantakam. The medical camp witnessed participation from 54 residents and caregivers. The initiative was well-received, as it addressed the immediate healthcare needs of the elderly and raised awareness about preventive health measures. The General Medical Camp at BIRD Old Age Home successfully provided essential healthcare services and health education to elderly residents. The event emphasized the need for continuous medical support and care for senior citizens.

Republic Day Celebration.

On January 26th, 2025, Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science proudly celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The Principal’s address delved on the theme of 2025 Republic Day “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas”. The event featured a series of engaging activities, including the hoisting of the National flag, followed by the speeches delivered by the students that highlighted the significance of Republic Day, the journey of India’s independence, the difference of the flag hoisting between the Independence Day and Republic Day and the importance of upholding democracy and unity in diversity.

Drug Awareness Mega Sign Campaign and Pledge Taking Program

The NSS Units I and II, along with the DAD Committee of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, organized a Drug Awareness Mega Sign Campaign and Pledge Taking Program. The event, attended by more than 1,000 students and staff, was graced by the college principal, Dr. V. Subathra, who emphasized the importance of a drug-free society. Participants signed a banner pledging to stay drug-free and took a collective oath led by  NSS Programme Officer. The program successfully raised awareness and strengthened the commitment to a drug-free campus.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The YRC, NSS Unit- I & II and RRC Units of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science Madurantakam successfully organized a Blood Donation camp on 08.01.2025 in association with the Chengalpattu Government Medical College and Hospital, Chengalpattu. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. V. Subathra, Principal, SMCAS and Under the guidance of Dr. Anitha, 63 Volunteers donated their blood. Appreciation certificates were distributed to all the blood donors.

The World Music Tamil Conference and Gothai Tamil International Seminar

The Department of Tamil at Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, in collaboration with Kamban Kazhagam Foundation, Tindivanam, and Sri Krishna Residence, Chennai, as well as Muthamil Forum, Jaffna, Sri Lanka, co-hosted the World Music Tamil Conference and Gothai Tamil International Seminar on December 28, 2024. Renowned musicians and dancers from various regions of Tamil Nadu graced the occasion, performing classical dances to a variety of devotional songs. During the seminar, 143 songs from Andal’s Tirupavai and Nachiyar Thirumozhi were studied under various topics. A comprehensive book containing research papers was published, featuring insights from the seminar’s four sessions. The event drew over 250 participants, including students, researchers, and scholars, who shared their valuable perspectives on Gothai Tamil.

FOOD EXPO on 27th December 2024

The Department of Physics with CA organized a vibrant ‘FOOD EXPO’ on 27th December 2024, which served as a delightful platform for students and staff to explore culinary creativity and promote a spirit of camaraderie. The event commenced at 10 am with an opening ceremony inaugurated by Dr. V. Subathra, Principal who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary activities and the role of food in fostering cultural appreciation and witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. The Food Expo featured a diverse array of homemade and national dishes which categorized as Ancient, Without oil, Without boil, Grain food, Fast food, Homemade sweets and Food as medicine, showcasing the talents and innovative ideas of the participants.

AIDS AWARENESS PROGRAMME

YRC & RRC Units of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science Madurantakam successfully conducted the AIDS Awareness Program on 20.12.2024 in association with Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society at College Auditorium. Our Principal Dr. V. SUBATHRA delivered the presidential address and Dr. D. Muruganandam, Vice Principal delivered a speech. The Chief guest Thirumathi J. INDIRA, ICT Chengalpattu created awareness about AIDS and way & means of protecting youth from the dreaded disease. The 180 YRC & RRC Volunteers had participated in this event. The pledge was administered to all the YRC & RRC Volunteers.
