Awareness program on Drug Abuse and POCSO through lecture and Rally

On August 29, 2024, the two NSS Units along with the YRC, RRC, and Drive against Drugs Committee, organized a awareness program on Drug Abuse and POCSO through lecture and Rally. The event was led by the chief guest, Mrs. G. Amudha, Sub-Inspector of Police from Chengalpattu District, who delivered an impactful speech on the dangers of drug abuse and the features of the POCSO Act in protecting children. Following her address, students and staff participated in a rally through key areas of the community, carrying banners to raise awareness. The college Principal and Vice Principal  took part in the event. The program successfully engaged participants and the local community, spreading crucial messages about drug prevention and child protection.

Awareness programme to the female students regarding their intimate hygiene

The health and hygiene committee of our college took a right set of circumstance to conduct an awareness programme to all the female students regarding their intimate hygiene. The session has been kick started in the morning in our college auditorium around 10.30am. The principal and Health hygiene committee members delivered an absolute need advice regarding intimate and hygiene for the female students to all the departments.

Herbal Garden plantation

On August 23, 2024, the NSS Units of our college organized a Herbal Tree Plantation program on our college campus. The event was inaugurated by Dr. G. Hariharasudhan, Block Medical Officer, Madurantakam and Dr. Priya nandhini  Govt. Hospital Madurantakam, who served as the chief guest. The college Principal and Vice Principal also participated in the event, which aimed to promote environmental sustainability and awareness among students. Several herbal saplings were planted, contributing to the greanary of the campus and encouraging the practice of traditional medicinal plant cultivation.

Blood Donation camp on 23-08-2024

On August 23, 2024, the NSS Units I and II,  YRC and RRC of our college, jointly organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Madurantakam Government Hospital. The event witnessed a  response, with 43 units of blood donated by students and staff. The camp was conducted under the guidance of medical professionals, ensuring the safety and well-being of all doners. The initiative highlighted the commitment of our college towards social responsibility and community service.

Inaugurating the Association of Commerce with CA

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications celebrated a momentous occasion by inaugurating the Association of Commerce with CA, alongside the Department’s Freshers’ Day, in the college auditorium on August 21, 2024, at 10 a.m. The event was honored by the presence of our Principal, and the head of the department outlined the association’s objectives and future plans. The day was especially significant for the first-year students as they embarked on their new journey in college life. A variety of events, including singing, dancing, and games, were organized to entertain the students and showcase their talents and warmth to one another.

. The parents meet of all the departments was held on 17.08.2024. Initially, there was a meeting of all the parents with the HOD and faculty members of the department. During this meet, there was a general discussion about the college’s developments and the role of parents in shaping the future of the college as well as their wards. Parents were deliberated about the NAAC initiatives of the college and parents’ contribution towards obtaining NAAC grades. After this initial exercise, each parent met with the HOD and the class about their ward’s academic performance in Continuous Assessment Test I (CAT I) and Last semester University examination results, the attendance, general behavior in the class were brought to the notice of the parents. The good academic performance as well as behaviors were appreciated and when there is a lack, parents were directed to pay more attention to their wards at home. In general, students were motivated and encouraged in the presence of parents. This meet helped in bridging the gap between the parents and teachers in improving the quality of education of students.

Kabaddi court inauguration and selection trials

On August 14, 2024, the KABADDI court re-establishment inauguration and selection trials have been organized for the students and staff. The event was graced by Dr. V. Subathra, Principal, Dr. D. Muruganandam, Vice Principal, and Mr. K. N. Babu, IQAC Coordinator. Ms. C. Muruugeswari and Mr. M. Murali, the Physical Directors of the college, made necessary in arrangements for the trials. During the event, the principal spoke to the students about the significance of sports, emphasizing their importance in overall development and urged the students to utilize all the facilities creation by management. The Vice Principal encouraged students to actively participate in zonal level sports competitions. Dr. M. Mohan Babu, HOD of Physics and a Sports Committee member, the compered proceedings as the emcee. Mr. M. Murali delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for their efforts in making the event successful. Following the formalities, students enthusiastically engaged in playing badminton on the same day.
