Teachers’ Day 2025 – A Day Full of Fun, Laughter, and Memories

The students of SMCAS along with Staff Colloquium committee came together to honour and appreciate their beloved teachers. The events were lively, funny and joyful. The celebration began with the speech of Director, Principal, Vice principal and also from students which highlighted the invaluable role of teachers in shaping their future. The true highlight of the day was the series of funny games and activities organized by the studentsespecially for the staff members.It was actually a break for teachers from their routine. All teaching and non-teaching staff members actively participated in all games. Fewof those funny games were balloon walking, pyramid collapsing, tongue twister, identify images of staff members, identifying biscuits merely by tasting, think differently etc were organized. These were competing as staff members showing their fun side which turned out to endless cheers and laughter making everyone happy like never before. Students cheered and thanked their mentors. The bond between mentors and students became stronger. The staff’s enthusiastic participation and sporting spirit made the event truly memorable. All together the day ended leaving behindeverlasting and cherished memories.

Teacher Appreciation Day Celebration – Physics

The Teachers’ Day celebration was held on 4th September 2025 at 10 AM in the Physics Laboratory to honor and appreciate the precious service of teachers to society, organized by Students of our department. The program began with a warm welcome by V. Karthika from III B.Sc. (Physics with CA). Motivational speech was delivered by Dr. M. Mohanbabu, HOD of Physics who emphasized the significance of teachers in shaping the future of students with their endeavors followed by the speeches from our department staff members. The celebration featured various cultural performances by the students, including Speeches, songs, dances, and poetry recitations, all rendered to their teachers.

Blood donation camp

The YRC and RRC Units of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 02.09.2025 in association with the Indian Red Cross Society Blood Bank, Egmore, Chennai.The camp was inaugurated by Dr. V. Subathra, Director – Academics, Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, and Mr. K. N. Babu, Vice Principal of SMCAS.A total of 63 volunteers generously donated blood during the camp. To acknowledge their noble contribution, appreciation certificates were distributed to all the blood donors.

NSS Orientation programme for freshers – 2025

The two NSS units of our college organized a NSS orientation programme for freshers on 03.09.2025. The chief guest was Mrs.Thenral, Headmistress of Sowbakmal Sowkar Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Madurantakam. All the volunteers actively participated. Her inspiring address emphasized the importance of taking up of responsibility and community service.

Parent-Teacher Meeting – Department of Computer Science

Parents’ Meeting for the odd semester of the academic year 2025–2026 was held on Saturday, 23rd August 2025, at our premises. The aim of this meeting was to strengthen the relationship among parents, students and the college. The discussion focused on the review of academic progress, attendance, behavioural observations, skill development, career counselling, co-curricular activities, competitive exams, internships, digital classes and scholarships. Parents’ active participation was encouraging as they appreciated the way the meeting was arranged, the transparency, productive environment provided by the college.

Parent-Teacher Meeting – Department of Physics with CA

The meeting started at 10:00 AM, with a welcome address by Dr. M. Mohanbabu, Head of the Department of Physics. Agenda discussed: UNOM result analysis, test performance, attendance, dress code, discipline, and scholarship information. Parents were informed about students’ progress and improvements, while those needing extra academic support were identified. Scholarship details and eligibility criteria were shared, encouraging students to apply. Parents were requested to support participation in extra-curricular activities. Positive feedback was received, with appreciation for conducting the meeting. Suggestions from parents included introducing bus service for students. The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to student development. Parent-Teacher Meeting for the Department of Physics with CA began at 10:00 AM on 23.08.2025 with warm welcome. The agenda covered are Student performance on UNOM examination and CAT, Attendance, General behaviour, Scholarship information and Extra-curricular activities. Parents were updated on their child’s progress, and those needing extra support were identified. Finally, Department faculty members thanked all the parents for their presence.

A Parent-Teacher Meeting was held by the Department of Tamil on 23rd August 2025. Parents from all classes attended the session. Tech Nest Association Fusion Fest

Tech Nest Association of the department of Computer Science was inaugurated on 20.08.2025. Students actively participated in various events on the first day of Fusion Fest ’25 organized by the department.  These events were arranged for encouraging students to nurture their creativity and excel in extracurricular activities apart from academics. The events organized were 1. Nail Art – Participants expressed their imagination through colourful designs.2. Pencil Sketch – Students showcased the skills with beautiful pencil art3. Pot Painting – Artistic creativity was brought to life on earthen pots4. Vegetable Carving – Innovative carvings on vegetables with detail and precision was amazing5.
