NSS Activities

A Phenomenal event was organized by the NSS unit to plant a total number of 2000 palm seeds in the east coast road on 13.09.20203 It was an historical initiative took for making the Earth even more greener

Inauguration of First year NSS volunteers was held on 11-09-2023. The Chief Guest was Mr. Na. Ayya Pandiyan, PG Assistant in Tamil who is also the NSS Programme Officer, Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Orathi.

Two NSS Units organized a programme on Fire Safety in coordination with Fire Service Department was organised on 29-08-2023. The Fire safety awarness was given by Mr. A. Srinivasan, Station officer (T), Fire Service Office, Madurantakam. He demonstrated the ways to handle fire accidents and ways in means of protecting during fire accidents. 

On 24th August 2023, two NSS units and DAD committee with the motive to make India Drug Free, conducted Essay writing, Verse writing and Elocution competitions related to awareness on Drugs and its harmful effects on young generation and the society.

Two units of NSS organized a Blood Donation camp on 18-08-2023 in unison with Rotary club of Madurantakam and Dr. MGR Medical University. The camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Sivasakthi, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Madurantakam. 110 volunteers donated their blood. Appreciation certificates were given away to all the donors.

The NSS Volunteers conducted a survey on Employment Opportunities of the people residing in the rural areas in and around Madurantakam on 13-08-2023. 500 households were covered.

On 12.07.2023, two the NSS units organized an awareness program on uzhavar scholarship scheme. The importance of this scheme was explained to the students by our special guest Thasildar Mr. Manoharan and Senior Revenue Inspector Mrs. Sudha at Taluk Office, Madurantakam.
