Drug Awareness Mega Sign Campaign and Pledge Taking Program

The NSS Units I and II, along with the DAD Committee of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, organized a Drug Awareness Mega Sign Campaign and Pledge Taking Program. The event, attended by more than 1,000 students and staff, was graced by the college principal, Dr. V. Subathra, who emphasized the importance of a drug-free society. Participants signed a banner pledging to stay drug-free and took a collective oath led by  NSS Programme Officer. The program successfully raised awareness and strengthened the commitment to a drug-free campus.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The YRC, NSS Unit- I & II and RRC Units of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science Madurantakam successfully organized a Blood Donation camp on 08.01.2025 in association with the Chengalpattu Government Medical College and Hospital, Chengalpattu. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. V. Subathra, Principal, SMCAS and Under the guidance of Dr. Anitha, 63 Volunteers donated their blood. Appreciation certificates were distributed to all the blood donors.

Awareness program on Road safety and Prevention of accidents

Awareness program on Road safety and prevention of accidents was successfully conducted to create awareness among 150 Volunteers belonging to NSS, YRC, and RRC on 19.12.2024. The adhering to traffic rules and safety measures. The program was graced by Mr. P. Govindarajan, Divisional Engineer, Mr. R. Kannan, Assistant Divisional Engineer and Mr. B. Bubalasingham, Junior Engineer, Road safety wing, Chennai Section Guindy, they shared valuable informations and case studies of accidents. The entire Programme enriched the volunteers on the critical role of road safety in saving lives.

“கழிவு மேலாண்மை விழிப்புணர்வு: NSS மாணவர்களின் மாரத்தான் நிகழ்ச்சி”

மதுராந்தகம் ஸ்ரீ மாலோலன் கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியில்   நாட்டு நலப்பணித் திட்டம் (NSS) மதுராந்தகம் நகராட்சியுடன்  இணைந்து “கழிவு மேலாண்மை” (Swachchata Hi Seva Marathon) பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை மக்களிடையே   ஏற்படுத்தும் பொருட்டு மாணவர்களால் கல்லூரியிலிருந்து மோச்சேரி கிராமம்  வரையிலான (5 km) மாரத்தான் நிகழ்ச்சி ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது. இதில்  கல்லூரி முதல்வர் Dr . V . சுபத்ரா, துணை முதல்வர் Dr . D . முருகானந்தம் ஆகியோர் விழாவினைத் தொடங்கி  வைத்தனர்.    நிகழ்ச்சியில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக மதுராந்தகம் சுகாதார ஆய்வாளர் திரு.V .சீனிவாசன் மற்றும் அவசர சிகிச்சை உதவிக்காக மதுராந்தகம் ஆரம்ப சுகாதார நிலைய மருத்துவர் Dr . கெளதம் அவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு விழாவினை சிறப்பித்தனர். மாணவர்கள் பலரும்  போட்டியில் ஆர்வமுடன் பங்கேற்றனர். வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு பரிசுகள், பதக்கங்கள் மற்றும் சான்றிதழ்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

The Two NSS Units of our college participated in waste Awareness program on 23 september 2024 at Madurantakam Municipality waste warehouse.  The Sanitary Inspector Mr. Srinivasan demonstrated how the waste is segregated and disposed off.  it was an eye opened for the students and they vowed to follow it in  college and community

On 18th September 2024, the two NSS units of our College  observed Social Justice Day. The event focused on raising awareness about equality and justice. NSS Programme Officer, Mr. E. Gurunathan, administered a pledge to the students, Over 150 volunteers participated, committing themselves to promoting social harmony and justice for all.

Awareness program on Drug Abuse and POCSO through lecture and Rally

On August 29, 2024, the two NSS Units along with the YRC, RRC, and Drive against Drugs Committee, organized a awareness program on Drug Abuse and POCSO through lecture and Rally. The event was led by the chief guest, Mrs. G. Amudha, Sub-Inspector of Police from Chengalpattu District, who delivered an impactful speech on the dangers of drug abuse and the features of the POCSO Act in protecting children. Following her address, students and staff participated in a rally through key areas of the community, carrying banners to raise awareness. The college Principal and Vice Principal  took part in the event. The program successfully engaged participants and the local community, spreading crucial messages about drug prevention and child protection.

Herbal Garden plantation

On August 23, 2024, the NSS Units of our college organized a Herbal Tree Plantation program on our college campus. The event was inaugurated by Dr. G. Hariharasudhan, Block Medical Officer, Madurantakam and Dr. Priya nandhini  Govt. Hospital Madurantakam, who served as the chief guest. The college Principal and Vice Principal also participated in the event, which aimed to promote environmental sustainability and awareness among students. Several herbal saplings were planted, contributing to the greanary of the campus and encouraging the practice of traditional medicinal plant cultivation.

Blood Donation camp on 23-08-2024

On August 23, 2024, the NSS Units I and II,  YRC and RRC of our college, jointly organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Madurantakam Government Hospital. The event witnessed a  response, with 43 units of blood donated by students and staff. The camp was conducted under the guidance of medical professionals, ensuring the safety and well-being of all doners. The initiative highlighted the commitment of our college towards social responsibility and community service.
