Parent-Teacher meeting – Department of Tamil

A Parent-Teacher Meeting was held by the Department of Tamil on 23rd August 2025. Parents from all classes attended the session. The meeting served as a platform for parents and teachers to engage in meaningful discussions regarding the academic progress and overall development of the students. Parents also shared their valuable suggestions and feedback. The event proved to be highly beneficial in strengthening the collaboration between parents and teachers for the betterment of students.

Tech Nest Association Fusion Fest

Tech Nest Association of the department of Computer Science was inaugurated on 20.08.2025. Students actively participated in various events on the first day of Fusion Fest ’25 organized by the department.  These events were arranged for encouraging students to nurture their creativity and excel in extracurricular activities apart from academics. The events organized were 1. Nail Art – Participants expressed their imagination through colourful designs.2. Pencil Sketch – Students showcased the skills with beautiful pencil art3. Pot Painting – Artistic creativity was brought to life on earthen pots4. Vegetable Carving – Innovative carvings on vegetables with detail and precision was amazing5. Mehndi – Stunning mehndi designs with elegance and creativity were put up6. Paper Collage – Students created thematic collages using paper cuttings, highlighting innovation

State level NSS Adventure Programme

Mr.E.Gurunathan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce with Ca and NSS Programme officer of our college had been selected for the participation as contingent leader in the State level Adventure Training Programme for the NSS volunteers,  organized by Tamilnadu State NSS cell in collaboration with Periyar University, Salem at DON BOSCO Youth Centre, Yercaud from 18th August 2025 to 22nd August 2025 (5 days).

79th Independence Day Celebration – 2025

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2025 with National fervor. The event commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by the singing of “Tamizhil Thaai Vaazhthu” (the Tamil anthem), and the Flag Song. The National Flag was then unfurled by the college Principal, Dr. V. Subathra, amidst patriotic chants and applause. In her address to the gathering, Dr. V. Subathra, Principal spoke on the significance of Independence Day and highlighted the importance of the nation is making giant strides towards realizing the Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, the theme of this year’s celebrations is “Naya Bharat” initiative, encouraging everyone to bring the spirit of patriotism into their homes. Vice-Principal Dr. D. Muruganandam, in his speech, stressed the importance of honoring and remembering the sacrifices of military personnel, who continue to protect the Nation’s freedom. He urged the attendees to be mindful of their invaluable contributions and followed by National Anthem. The celebrations continued with students performing a variety of programs, including patriotic songs, stirring speeches, and heartfelt poems about India’s independence and its National leaders.

Mass Anti-Drug Pledge Campaign

Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science organized a Mass Anti-Drug Pledge Campaign under the guidance of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 11th August 2025  to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free society. The event was held in the presence of the Principal, Dr. V. Subathra, and Vice Principal,               Dr. D. Muruganantham, along with faculty members, NSS, and YRC volunteers. The Principal addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of saying no to drugs and leading a disciplined life. All the students, teaching and non-teaching staff actively participated in the pledge-taking ceremony, solemnly committing to stay away from drugs and to encourage others to live a drug-free life. More than 1000 participants joined the campaign, making it a meaningful and impactful event.

Drug free Tamilnadu Campus challenge

Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science actively participated in the #DrugFreeTNCampusChallenge organized under the guidance of the Government of Tamil Nadu from 5th August 2025 to 10th August 2025 to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse among the student community. As part of the campaign, students promoted the #DrugFreeTNCampus message on social media platforms, including Twitter and Instagram, by posting awareness content, pledge statements, posters, and short videos encouraging a drug-free lifestyle. A total of 600 students took part in the challenge, making the campaign widely visible and impactful online. This digital awareness initiative successfully reached a broader audience beyond the campus and motivated peers to join the cause of building a healthy, drug-free society. Anti Drug club award

The college has secured II place in the Anti-Drug Club category and III place in the Events category for its outstanding contribution to the anti-drug awareness campaign initiated by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Appreciate the remarkable efforts of Dr. S. Priya, Convenor of the Drive Against Drugs Committee, and Mr. E.
