Cultural and Farewell Program – B.Sc(CS)

A memorable Cultural and Farewell Program was organized by the department of Computer Science on 03.04.2025 as a send-off from college since adventures are waiting for their future. The event was filled with heartfelt moments as students came together to celebrate the journey and achievements of the graduating class. Several activities like dance performances, mimicry acts, funny games, and melodious songs added energy and joy to the atmosphere as students showcased their creativity and artistic sense of humor, making the event both entertaining and emotionally enriching.

International Conference on Mathematical Modelling and Computational Innovations-ICMMCI 2025

Organized by Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science February 21-22, 2025 | Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science (SMCAS) successfully organized a two-day International Conference on Mathematical Modelling and Computational Innovations on February 21-22, 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students from various universities and colleges, with over 1000 attendees and 100 research papers presented in both online and offline modes across four parallel sessions. The conference commenced with a welcome address by Dr. K. Venkatesan, Associate Professor in Mathematics and Convenor of the Conference. This was followed by the inaugural address by                  Dr. V. Subathra, Principal of SMCAS. A key highlight of the event was the release of the conference proceedings (Book of Abstracts) by the Principal and Vice principal of SMCAS, along with the Heads of the Departments of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Applications. The proceedings were then handed over to the day’s chief guests: Dr. Rajakumaran Murugesan, Taylor’s University, Malaysia Dr. S. Meenakshi, Vels Institute of Science and Technology & Advanced Sciences Dr. R. Latha, St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research This gesture recognized the collaborative efforts of these disciplines in advancing research and innovation. Day 1 featured engaging technical sessions and research presentations, covering various aspects of mathematical modelling and computational innovations. On Day 2, the conference continued with insightful sessions delivered by distinguished speakers, including: Dr. C. Sivagnanam, University of Technology and Applied Sciences-Sur, Sultanate of Oman Dr. C. Mahadevan, Gandhigram Rural University, Dindigul Dr. A. Selvam, VHNSN College, Virudhunagar The event concluded with the valedictory address by Dr. D. Muruganandham, Vice Principal of SMCAS, who commended the participants for their valuable contributions and expressed gratitude to the organizing team, speakers, and attendees for making the conference a grand success. The formal proceedings ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. S. Priya, Head and Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, who extended heartfelt appreciation to the esteemed guests, speakers, participants, organizing committee, and technical team for their collective efforts in making the conference a resounding success. The conference provided an excellent platform for knowledge sharing, fostering collaborations, and exploring innovative research ideas in the field of Mathematical Modeling and Computational Innovations.

Green Measure Initiative by Alumni of B.Sc (Computer Science)

On 22.07.2024, the Alumni Students of Department of Computer Science (2020-2023 Batch) demonstrated their commitment to environmental sustainability by sponsoring 50 saplings to make the college campus evergreen. This initiative was well accepted and appreciated by the Principal, Vice Principal and Head of departments. Staff and students planted those samplings in various places at the campus promoting a greener and more sustainable environment.   Kudos to the Alumni for their thoughtful initiative!

Topic on “Indraiya Manavargal”

The topic on “Indraiya Manavargal”, ie. “Current students”, was inviting. The guest gave several examples and even videos illustrating the behaviour and attitude of present generation students. He also gave comparisons between generations and the gaps were discussed. This session englightened the students and helped them to change their attitude in future.
