Green Measure Initiative by Department of Business Administration

The BBA Department has initiated small gardening project which is approved by the Principal.             The main objective of this project is to enhance the greenery and aesthetic appeal of the area in front of the BBA Department by planting saplings. This initiative aims to promote environmental awareness, provide a hands-on learning experience for students, and contribute to the overall beautification of the campus.             Clean and clear the designated area in front of BBA Department has prepared the soil by adding compost and necessary nutrients to ensure healthy growth of the saplings.             The Planting Day was organized on 22.07.2024 involving students and staff.

Green Measure Initiative by B.Sc (Physics with Computer Applications)

On behalf of celebration of the Educational Development Day, 10 saplings were planted at Physics Park by students and faculties on 15th July 2024. The plantation program started at 10 am and the welcome address was given by Dr. M. Mohanbabu, HOD with importance of education speech. Department faculty Mr. J. Arunkarthikeyan, Asst. Prof. started the plantation followed by the students. Finally, the vote of thanks was given by Dr. E. Chinnasamy, Asst. Prof. of physics.

Green Measure Initiative by Alumni of B.Sc (Computer Science)

On 22.07.2024, the Alumni Students of Department of Computer Science (2020-2023 Batch) demonstrated their commitment to environmental sustainability by sponsoring 50 saplings to make the college campus evergreen. This initiative was well accepted and appreciated by the Principal, Vice Principal and Head of departments. Staff and students planted those samplings in various places at the campus promoting a greener and more sustainable environment.   Kudos to the Alumni for their thoughtful initiative!

The Freshers’ Day celebration at SMCAS on 9th July 2024

The Freshers’ Day celebration at SMCAS on 9th July 2024 was a memorable event, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the incoming students. Held in the college auditorium, the event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 200 freshers. The celebration was graced by the esteemed Principal, Dr. V. Subathra, whose presence added great significance to the occasion, her inspiring speech motivated the new students, encouraging them to embrace the myriad opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the Heads of Departments (HODs). Each HOD shared insights about their respective departments, providing the freshers with a glimpse into the academic and extracurricular activities they can look forward to. Adding to the vibrancy of the day, students performed various colorful dance performances, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm. These performances not only entertained the audience but also demonstrated the diverse talents present within the new batch of students. The day was filled with excitement, warm welcomes, and engaging interactions. It provided a platform for new students to familiarize themselves with the college environment, meet faculty members, and connect with their peers. Heartfelt thanks are extended to all who participated and contributed to making this event a grand success.

Cybercrime Awareness Programme

The two Nss units organized a “Cybercrime awareness programme” on 8th July 2024. The Chief guest was Mr B Dhanasekaran, Sub-Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime Police station, Chengalpattu District. He made a PowerPoint presentation to explain about the topic. He elaborated on the case he dealt with. The programme was attended by Mr N Raja, the Sub-Inspector of Police of Madurantakam. The gathering was welcomed by Mr. E.Gurunathan, NSS Programme Officer and thanked by Mr R Dhineshbabu, RRC Programme officer.  173 students attended the programme.
