Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme (YAMS) – 7-Day Residential Training Programme

The NSS Regional Directorate organized a 7-day residential Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme (YAMS) Training Programme for NSS volunteers from 06.07.2026 to 12.07.2026 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu District.

A total of 11 NSS volunteers from Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantakam, participated in the training programme. The programme provided comprehensive training in disaster preparedness, disaster risk reduction, first aid, search and rescue techniques, emergency response, evacuation procedures, and community-based disaster management.

The volunteers gained practical knowledge and hands-on experience in responding effectively during natural and man-made disasters. They were trained to rescue affected people, provide first aid, coordinate with emergency response teams, and manage critical situations during disasters
