- [MATHFUN – Celebrating the 138th Birth Anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/mathfun-celebrating-the-138th-birth-anniversary-of-srinivasa-ramanujan/): The Department of Mathematics with CA organized “MATHFUN” On 22nd December 2025 in connection with the 138th Birth Anniversary of Sri Srinivasa Ramanujan. The programme began with a Welcome address and guest introduction by Mr. K. N. Babu, Head of the Department. A guest lecture was delivered by the principal, Dr. D. Muruganandam, on the topic “Importance of Financial Literacy”. Three events – Math Riddles, Mathematical Tunes and Math Connection – were conducted. 24 students participated and prizes were awarded to the winners. The programme was conducted successfully.

- [Election awareness programme](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/election-awareness-programme/): The two NSS Units of our college organised an Election Awareness Programme on 28-01-2025 in collaboration with the Revenue Department of Madurantakam. The programme focused on educating new voters about the polling process and demonstrated how to verify their voter details and cast their votes correctly. The programme was presided over by our College Director, Principal, and Vice Principal, and was attended by faculty members from various departments. All first-year students actively participated in the programme and benefited from the awareness session  
- [77th Republic Day Celebration](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/77th-republic-day-celebration/): Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science proudly celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The event commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by the singing of “Tamizhil Thaai Vaazhthu” (the Tamil anthem), and the Flag Song. The National Flag was then unfurled by the college Principal, Dr. D.Muruganandham, amidst patriotic chants and applause. Presidential address was also rendered by him. - [NSS Camp 2026: Empowering Villages through Service](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/nss-camp-2026-empowering-villages-through-service/): The two NSS Units of our college successfully conducted a Special Camp from 07-01-2026 to 13-01-2026 at Perumberkandigai and Kadamalaiputhur villages. A total of 100 volunteers actively participated in the camp. During this period, the students engaged in “Swacch Bharat” cleaning programme in the Panchayat Union Middle School, a Play School. The steps leading to Murugan temple at Perumberkandigai hill was also cleaned by the volunteers. - [Seven-Day NSS Residential Camp 2026](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/seven-day-nss-residential-camp-2026/): A seven-day residential camp of two NSS units will be organized at Perumber Kandigai village from 07.01.2026 to 13.01.2026. Students participate in this camp to render social service in this village.The camp will also serve as an outdoor learning programme, providing students with opportunities to develop teamwork, understand and accept cultural differences, and enhance their leadership qualities.

- [AIDS Awareness Programme](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/aids-awareness-programme-2/): The two NSS units and the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of our college successfully conducted an AIDS Awareness Programme in collaboration with Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research on 22-12-2024. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about HIV and AIDS and to promote responsible and healthy behavior. Doctors delivered informative sessions explaining the causes, modes of transmission, symptoms, prevention methods, and available treatments for HIV/AIDS. They also addressed common myths and misconceptions and emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, safe practices, and social responsibility towards people living with HIV/AIDS.

On this occasion, the volunteers took a pledge to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation. The event, held at the college auditorium, aimed to support students in making informed decisions about their future academic and career paths. Expert speakers Dr. P. Amul Sofia and Mr. A. Karthick guided students through various career options, requirements for higher education, and in-demand skills. The programme saw enthusiastic 116 participation from students, who interacted actively and raised thoughtful questions.

The program began with a prayer and welcome by Dr. M. Mohanbabu, followed by the felicitation of our Principal Dr. D. Muruganandam & Vice Principal Mr. K.N. Babu and the Chief Guest Mr. A. Karthick, Assistant professor in computer applications. Dr. V. Navaneetha Kannan, Head, Department of Commerce at SRM Arts and Science College, has served as the Chief guest and resource person. He delivered an insightful lecture on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Business analytics. The programme enriched the student’s knowledge of emerging technologies and motivated them to explore AI based tools and career opportunities in the field of commerce.

- [Disaster management awareness](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/disaster-management-awareness/): The Tamilnadu Government Fire Service Deaprtment conducted a “Disaster Management” awareness programme  on 12.09.2025 at Madurantakam lake. The Chief guest was Ms.Saranyadevi , the District Revenue Officer, Madurantakam Taluk Tahsildar, RDO and District fire officer were also present. The team demonstrated to rescue process of drowning people, perform CPR and save livestock animals during emergencies. all NSS volunteers from our college actively participated in the event.

- [ADMIN PRO 2025](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/admin-pro-2025/): The Department of BBA organized an one-day program titled “Admin Pro” on 22.08.2025 at Auditorium. The program aimed to enhance the administrative and professional skills of students, providing them with practical exposure and opportunities to develop leadership qualities. Eye Hospital, Perungalathur, organized a Free Eye Health Care Camp on 04.09.2025 at the college campus.The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation, with around 300 students undergoing eye check-ups conducted by the expert medical team from M.N. Eye Hospital.This initiative helped create awareness about the importance of eye care and early detection of vision-related issues among students.

Subathra, Director – Academics, Dr. D. Muruganandam, Principal, and Mr. K. N. Babu, Vice Principal of SMCAS.A total of 63 volunteers generously donated blood during the camp. To acknowledge their noble contribution, appreciation certificates were distributed to all the blood donors.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the relationship between parents and teachers and to review the academic progress, discipline, and overall development of students. A total of 111 parents attended the meeting and actively interacted with the faculty. They appreciated the efforts of the department and gave valuable suggestions for the improvement of students’ performance. Teachers clarified the parents’ queries and assured continuous support.

The aim of this meeting was to strengthen the relationship among parents, students and the college. The discussion focused on the review of academic progress, attendance, behavioural observations, skill development, career counselling, co-curricular activities, competitive exams, internships, digital classes and scholarships. Parents’ active participation was encouraging as they appreciated the way the meeting was arranged, the transparency, productive environment provided by the college.

Parents of the first-year students and second-year students attended the meeting and interacted with the staff members. The discussion mainly focused on the students’ academic performance, discipline, CAT examination results, and attendance records. The staff members of our department also offered guidance and suggestions to the parents and students on ways to improve academic progress and overall discipline.

Individual feedback was given to each student’s strengths and areas for improvement. Parents actively participated and shared their concerns. Teachers suggested ways to improve student learning. The meeting helped build a better connection between parents and Teachers.

The event fostered a positive bond among the students, creating a warm and welcoming environment. - [POCSO and Cyber Crime Safety Awareness Week](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/pocso-and-cyber-crime-safety-awareness-week/): The NSS Units and ICC Committee of Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science organized the POCSO and Cyber Crime Safety Awareness Week from 4th August 2025 to 8th August 2025. The first day’s event was inaugurated by Mrs. Uma Maheshwari, Inspector of Police, All-Women Police Station, Melmaruvathur. After the inauguration, a miming competition was conducted with four teams presenting their performances. On 5th August, a speech competition was held with nine participants. On 6th August, a short film competition took place with eight teams presenting their short films. On 7th August, a poetry competition was organized with thirteen participants.

As part of the campaign, students promoted the #DrugFreeTNCampus message on social media platforms, including Twitter and Instagram, by posting awareness content, pledge statements, posters, and short videos encouraging a drug-free lifestyle. A total of 600 students took part in the challenge, making the campaign widely visible and impactful online. - [Fire and Safety Awareness Programme](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/fire-and-safety-awareness-programme/): On 31-07-2025, two NSS units conducted a Fire Safety Awareness Programme in collaboration with the Fire Service Department. The event was led by Mr. A. Srinivasan, Station Officer (T), and his team from the Fire Service Office, Madurantakam. During the session, participants were given practical demonstrations on how to respond to fire accidents and administer CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) as part of first aid. Mr. Srinivasan also outlined important safety precautions to follow during fire-related emergencies.

- [Dental Health Care Camp](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/dental-health-care-camp/): The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Units successfully organized a Dental Health Care Camp in collaboration with Karpaga Vinayaga Dental Sciences, Madurantakam, on 19th February 2025 at the Auditorium. Abdul Kalam Science Centre & Planetarium in Lawspet, Puducherry. 35 students participated in this Industrial visit, which provided practical exposure to renewable energy technologies and advancements in space science. At the Renewable Energy Production Centre, students learnt about different renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and biomass energy. Experts demonstrated the latest technologies used in sustainable power generation and energy conservation. The event was organized by Youth Red Cross in collaboration with Chengalpattu Govt. Medical college and Hospital, Chengalpattu. The programme witnessed an enthusiastic response from 250 participants, including students, faculty members. Many attendees expressed their willingness to contribute to this noble cause by signing organ donor pledge forms. The Organ Donation Awareness Programme successfully educated and inspired participants to support organ donation. It underscored the importance of saving lives through this generous act.

The event was a collaboration with Karpaga Vinayaga Medical Sciences, Madurantakam. The medical camp witnessed participation from 54 residents and caregivers. - [The World Music Tamil Conference and Gothai Tamil International Seminar](https://srimalolancollege.ac.in/the-world-music-tamil-conference-and-gothai-tamil-international-seminar/): The Department of Tamil at Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, in collaboration with Kamban Kazhagam Foundation, Tindivanam, and Sri Krishna Residence, Chennai, as well as Muthamil Forum, Jaffna, Sri Lanka, co-hosted the World Music Tamil Conference and Gothai Tamil International Seminar on December 28, 2024. Renowned musicians and dancers from various regions of Tamil Nadu graced the occasion, performing classical dances to a variety of devotional songs. During the seminar, 143 songs from Andal’s Tirupavai and Nachiyar Thirumozhi were studied under various topics. A comprehensive book containing research papers was published, featuring insights from the seminar’s four sessions.
